Traceability Symposium 2016 - Overview
In June 2009, Canada’s first traceability research and development conference and trade show was held in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The objectives of the event were for participants to:
- Learn about the latest research findings and technologies;
- Facilitate collaborative work; and
- Identify priority research projects and technology developments that will support the implementation of traceability systems in the agricultural and food sectors.
In November 2016, Canadian Cattle Identification Agency hosted Traceability Symposium 2016 – an event that brought together governments, industry and the private sector to identify gaps, share successes and lessons learned – bridging the gaps as traceability moves forward in Canada and globally.
We welcomed more than 200 delegates from across Canada, United States, European Union, Australia and New Zealand representing governments, universities, research centres and programs, the private sector and industry.
